FAQs

Does fine line tattoos fade?

Tattoos in general can fade over time throughout the years due to factors like aging, the body’s natural processes, and especially sun exposure. Sun exposure can cause your tattoo to fade a lot quicker, if you do not wear sunscreen.          Fine line tattoos do not ‘fade’ unless of the factors stated above as of any general tattoo. Fine line can be mistaken for a faded look, depending on the thinness of the tattoo. ‘Single needle’ tattoos often get mistaken for being ‘faded’, when in fact they are suppose to heal a light grey look. We usually go through different thinnesses of fine line tattooing we provide, and show you healed results from the needles we use so you know what to expect in terms of healing. Keep in mind sometimes fine line tattoos may be a two step process depending on the: placement of the tattoo, aftercare, clients’ skin, and their lifestyle.

How long will my appointment take?

This depends on a lot of factors. Every artist is different when it comes to the general speed of tattooing. It also depends on the placement, as some placements take a little longer to work with then others. Also other factors like stencilling and changing the design before even tattooing takes time up also! We recommend not making any direct plans after the appointment as tattooing should not be rushed!

When will I see the design?

We usually show clients the design on the day of the appointment. Please do not feel pressured into ‘wasting time’ if you wish to make changes. This is what the time also includes in your appointment for you to make changes to your tattoo! Every change or alteration to your design is done very quickly as it’s all done using an iPad. So the process is very simple and quick! If you are nervous about the design, you can also contact the artist directly to ask if you can see the design earlier. At most you can see the design 1 day earlier to the appointment booked. This isn’t guaranteed, but you can message and ask for sure!

Do finger tattoos last?

Yes and no! If you’re after fine line tattoos on the fingers, then we strongly recommend against this. You will require multiple touch ups to preserve the clarity and longevity of the pieces. Having said that, we charge a fee to do touch ups only on the fingers due to the nature of them holding ink. We recommend using a thicker needle for finger tattoos if you are wanting them to stick a bit better. Everyone is different when it comes to finger tattoos and healing! This also depends on your lifestyle and how your skin is. It is also an area where if the ink does stay, it will spread faster than any other part of the body. So long-term finger tattoos do have a ‘blurry’ looking effect to them.

How should I prepare for the appointment? Make sure you get a good night’s rest and eat something decent and staying hydrated before the appointment! This is super important and will prevent you from feeling sick or light-headed. Please try to avoid any sun exposure or from getting sunburnt before the appointment. It’s always a good idea to keep the area you are getting tattooed moisturised and prepared for the appointment. There is no need to shave the area getting tattooed, we have the necessary equipment in the shop to prepare everything!

What should I wear to my appointment?

It’s a good idea to wear loose clothing to the appointment and make sure you are comfortable. If you’re getting a rib tattoo, (for females) please make sure you are not wearing anything too tight, especially bras. It’s a good idea to wear something loose so we can easily access the area without it pressing your skin. You can also wear something soft like a bralette underneath if that makes you more comfortable! We also offer privacy screens for certain areas for clients to feel more comfortable. Back tattoos- please wear something that is backless, so straps are not in the way of access or to line up the centre of the back. We also provide a robe clients can wear backwards to cover the front of their body, while keeping the back open.
